Forever Fabric Clearance
447 Stafford Road Stafford 4053 (07) 3856 5270
General fabric store but I did get a metre of cotton for $5 which I have used for binding. Prices range from$2 to $10 mostly. The entrance is at the side in Shand Street and it is probably best to phone before you go. Ring the bell if the door is closed. It is not far from Stafford City Shopping Centre

Lincraft
Quite a few stores to choose from. General art, craft and fabrics; including quilting cottons from $9 up. They have a loyalty card and it didn’t take long for me to get a $10 voucher to spend in store. I find their ‘coordinating’ fat quarter packs a bit bizarre at times; camouflage, floral and baby prints together! Perhaps I am not very adventurous

On a slip road entered via Moggill road as you approach the roundabout from the shopping centre. Good selection of all your favourite fabrics mainly in the $22 to $24 range. Layer cakes are $50 which is more expensive than most shops that I have been in. A good range of classes offered; recommended by a friend
Peppermint Stitches
133 Sylvan Road Toowong (07) 3161 6606
https://www.peppermintstitches.com.au/
Billed as the ‘cutest patchwork shop in Brisbane’ I have to agree; but then I am biased as I went to their beginners quilting class which is where I got hooked on quilting. Most fabrics are between $22 and $24. Layer cakes are around $44. A lovely shop with embroidery and cross stitch available too. Often have a half-price sale, minimum 1 metre cut. Check the website for classes with their friendly staff
